Architecture
needs more than just a façade
Architecture today is more than just an outer shell.
Buildings are expected to create atmosphere, be sustainable, and inspire people. Many architects are therefore looking for solutions that combine light, energy efficiency, and design. Conventional façades quickly reach their limits: they appear massive, block natural daylight, and leave little room for creative freedom.
Rodeca light building elements offer a contemporary alternative.
The translucent panels made of high-quality polycarbonate allow daylight to penetrate deep into the building without glare, creating bright, pleasant spaces with a natural light atmosphere. Thanks to their low weight, they simplify planning, statics, and installation, while their durability and versatility open up new architectural possibilities. In addition, they are fully recyclable and thus make an active contribution to sustainable construction. This turns the façade from a mere protective layer into an active design element of modern architecture.
Applications of Rodeca translucent building elements
Rodeca translucent building elements transform buildings into light-filled spaces that inspire and captivate. Whether in schools, sports halls, offices, or museums – wherever people come together, they create a unique atmosphere. The translucent material allows daylight to enter softly, adds a sense of lightness, and gives every architectural concept a modern character. At the same time, energy efficiency, sustainability, and durability take center stage. The result is architecture that is not only functional but also makes a statement: architecture in the best light.
Facades
Translucent façades bring light into the building, create architectural highlights, and combine aesthetics with functionality. Energy efficiency, thermal insulation, and modern design ensure bright interiors and sustainable structures.
Roofs & Canopies
Whether it’s a large-scale roof or an elegant canopy – the elements create bright, weatherproof structures that offer both protection and transparency. They are durable, energy-efficient, and transform every space beneath into a welcoming light-filled zone.
Interior Design
Inside, the panels enable modern room partitions that preserve openness and light. They appear lightweight, elegant, and highly versatile – ideal for creative concepts that emphasize both atmosphere and functionality.
Structure of the Translucent Building Elements
Thanks to their low weight and simple system, translucent building elements can be installed quickly and with minimal effort or accessories.
The panels are placed into the surrounding aluminum frame system and connected to each other via tongue and groove. Additional aluminum suction anchors secure the panels – even under high wind loads.
These properties make them a popular choice in architecture, especially for projects where natural light and energy efficiency play a key role.
- Excellent thermal insulation properties
- Extremely weather-resistant
- Quick installation
- Low weight
- Large spans achievable

Sustainability

Rodeca translucent building elements show significantly lower CO₂ emissions in a cradle-to-gate (C2G) comparison than many conventional façade materials such as glass façades or sandwich panels.
By combining low CO₂ emissions during production with excellent thermal insulation and the natural use of daylight, they actively contribute to reducing energy consumption during building operation.
In addition, the elements are 100% recyclable at the end of their life cycle.

Individual Colours for Unique Projects!

At Rodeca, research and development are at the core of continuously advancing polycarbonate Translucent Building Elements. All panels come standard with a UV protection layer that ensures durability and colour stability. In addition, optional surface finishes open up further possibilities: matte effects provide subtle, even light diffusion and reduce reflections, while Heatbloc technology minimizes heat gain and noticeably improves indoor comfort.
Rodeca also offers a wide range of colour design options. By colouring individual layers, different effects can be achieved – for example, as BiColor, DuoColor, or DecoColor. This allows for both subtle adjustments and bold architectural statements. For special requirements, reinforced panels are also available, combining enhanced stability with the same design flexibility.
Through close collaboration with architects and planners, Rodeca develops tailor-made solutions that combine technical performance, energy efficiency, and creative freedom – giving every project a truly distinctive character.
