Translucent building elements
Classic
The Classic product category includes all our translucent building elements for facades in thicknesses from 30 mm to 60 mm.
Due to the multi-layer structure, our polycarbonate panels achieve heat transfer coefficients of 1.5 to 0.75 W/m²K. Even better thermal insulation properties are possible with multi wall constructions. Thanks to the low weight, the proven tongue and groove connection, as well as well thought-out system accessories, all our panels can be installed easily and quickly.
- good thermal insulation
- extensive range
- high load resistance
- temperature resistant from -40° to +115°
- easy and comfortable to assemble
- high wind load resistance

at a glance
30 mm
The 30 mm thick panel with 6 layers and a width of 333 mm is the ideal solution for smaller façade areas where thermal insulation is not of paramount importance.
40 mm
The 40 mm thick panels with 4 to 10 layers and a width of mostly 500 mm are the classics among the translucent building elements. These panels also offer a wide range of possibilities in terms of coloration and effects.
50 mm
The 50 mm thick panel with 10 layers and a width of 495 mm is a good choice when thermal insulation and span are paramount.
60 mm
The 60 mm thick panel with 12 layers and a width of 500 mm is the strongest available panel in our product range with the best U-value.

Structure of
translucent building elements
Thanks to their low weight and the simple construction system, translucent building elements and accessories can be installed quickly and with little effort.
To do this, the panels are placed in the surrounding aluminum frame system and connected to each other with tongue and groove. Additional aluminum suction anchors secure the panels – even with high wind loads.
- quick assembly
- light weight
- excellent thermal insulation properties
- extremely weather resistant
- high spans can be realized
Questions and answers
about our translucent building elements.
Usually, the choice of the right translucent building element depends on factors such as wind or snow load, required thermal properties or sound insulation properties, light transmission or even other project conditions. Feel free to contact us!
The light transmission of our products is expressed as a percentage – from 0% to 100%.
Depending on the colouring and choice of product, these values differ. Thinner products in a crystalline colouring allow much more light to pass through than thicker products in a dark colouring, for example. Light-diffusing colourations such as opal colours, or even matte surfaces can also let a lot of diffuse light into the building.
Our products have more than one lifetime.
Thanks to our sophisticated technologies, facades and roofs made of polycarbonate can be converted back into moldable granules after use. Recycled by global value cycles, it can be incorporated into new products worldwide.
In many fire protection concepts Rodeca panels are applied as a meltable surface in accordance with DIN 18230-1, because the melting temperature of polycarbonate is below 300°C.
